The City in Cartoons is a programme which features a new author every three months, showcasing his or her own unique graphic narrative take on the buildings, people and stories that populate the city. The programme is currently in its fifth season and is being curated by Ana Galvañ, who is also an author.

The new edition of the series will present the work of comics artist and illustrator María Medem.

The stories created by María Medem (Seville, 1994) have a dreamlike and paradoxical quality. Her comics have been published in Tik Tok and she has also self-published several of her works. She is currently finishing up a comic for the Dutch publishing company Terry Bleu, in addition to working on a long story in collaboration with Apa-Apa.
