In Light Out, Esther Navarro uses photography as a recording medium to approach painting, understood as something beyond the conventional capture achieved with a camera.

The project explores the capabilities of the image, expanding the boundaries of photography with an abstract work which gives body and matter to ephemeral events that transcend the screen to inhabit the tangible world. Photography brings us closer to visualising the unimaginable and offers a view that can’t be perceived by the eye; a disturbing view that sparks the observer’s imagination.

Light Out winds up EnFoco (InFocus), a series organised by CentroCentro that displays the work of five photographers selected by open call for the first time at a public institution. Since October 2017 it has showcased the work of Juan Aballe, Lukasz Michalak, Elena de la Rúa and Lara Albuixech.
