CentroCentro hosts for the third time the main exhibition in the Biennial of Contemporary Art Fundación ONCE

Celebrating the eightieth anniversary of ONCE Social Group and ten years of programme, the 7th Biennial of Contemporary Art features a selection of works by notable creators with disabilities throughout history. The exhibition displays almost 70 works by some thirty artists, most of whom (over 85%) have some form of disability, including Antonio Saura, Nancy Spero, Derek Jarman, Ángela de la Cruz, Tacita Dean and David Hockney.  It also features works by Francisco de Goya, on loan from Ibercaja Foundation and San Fernando Royal Academy of Fine Arts, as well as various videos that explain how disabilities are reflected in the work of artists like Edgard Degas, Claude Monet, Edvard Munch and Van Gogh.

Rounding out the exhibition will be a programme of parallel activities, both educational and purely for fun, which will be accessible to all at various institutions around the city. Workshops, talks, performing art series (dance, cinema and theatre) and film screenings, organised in collaboration with the Centro Dramático Nacional, the Spanish Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Science (AACCE) and La Casa Encendida, are some of the activities that will showcase the work of inclusive dance and theatre companies for the public.
