Jazz is, above all, music in permanent evolution. That is why the School of Creative Music, a regular feature in our programmes, has decided to take a qualitative leap forward this year at JAZZMADRID, and is bringing to the stage a formation with contrasting abilities and demands. In addition, this year’s formation is slightly smaller, in order to observe the necessary social distancing between the musicians playing on stage, as required by the restrictive regulations for the prevention of Covid-19.

Directed by the guitarist who lends his name to the band, this quintet emerged from within the framework of the Advanced Degree in Jazz and Contemporary Music Performance which is taught at the Creativa School. Sánchez is accompanied by flautist Jesús Condito, drummer Jorge Henríquez, pianist Jorge Naveros and double bass player Óscar Sánchez.

This proposal by Jaby Sánchez, who has already released two albums (“Inner Blossom” and “Acuarela de Paso” (A Passing Water Colour)), proposes mellow, intimate music that moves through the waters and the languages of jazz, with such different influences as the blues, Brazilian rhythms or contemporary music.

For this special occasion, the band will be joined on stage by Belén Martín (sax) and Jorge Moreno (trombone), both members of the first class to complete the Advanced Degree in Music Performance at the Creativa Music school.

Members:
Jaby Sánchez (electric guitar)
Jesús Condito (transverse flute)
Jorge Naveros (piano)
Óscar Sánchez (double bass)
Jorge Henríquez (drums)

With the participation of:
Belén Martín (alto sax)
Jorge Moreno (trombone)
