CentroCentro is firmly established as one of the essential venues for the 2019 Madrid Jazz Festival. The programme, plural in its proposals, offers an attractive panorama of contemporary jazz production.

In this edition, our auditorium will welcome the trumpet of Charles Tolliver, one of the most renowned musicians and composers as far as those in the know are concerned, but an artist who has not enjoyed the popularity of other creators who first sailed the waters of jazz in the 1970s. The free and uninhibited piano of the American Myra Meldford and her frontier sounds - somewhere between jazz and improvisation - will also be heard loud and clear. The counterpoint will be the eclecticism and energy of one of today’s most highly acclaimed blues women, Susan Santos. The mix of accents and textures will be courtesy of the personal creations of María Toro on the flute. The Latin universe will be represented by the versatility and charisma of Omar Sosa and his piano. Kontxi Lorente will unveil the potential of new Spanish jazz. Finally, dance will be represented with Lucía Marote’s tribute to the great Ella Fitzgerald.
